Join your neighbors to review the Eastlake Neighborhood Plan.
The Land Use Committee Looks an what's the progress and what changes are needed in Eastlake. The neighborhood plan is pretty important stuff. It helped Eastlake get parks, pathways, sidewalks, traffic signals (stop lights), street improvements, and noise walls, with more to come. And it deals with Eastlake's continuing issues: How to protect and improve Metro bus service? Can we get traffic signals where it's unsafe to cross? Should parking be restored to where it's now prohibited? Should Eastlake Avenue have a streetcar? How can we strengthen the Eastlake business district? Should it be a commercial strip, or should new residential and commercial developments be in separate nodes? Where do we need more parks, benches, trails, kiosks/bulletin boards, or art works? South of Colonnade Park, can WSDOT's scenic maintenance road be opened up to walkers, joggers, and cyclists? Are there solutions to the missing links in the Lake Union Loop Trail? Will the School District open up TOPS Seward School to local children who are now excluded? |
